Sam is a former college football star whose chance to play in the NFL abruptly ended with a blown out knee. Seven years after his injury, he finds himself alone, working a minimum wage job and weighing a deadly 413lbs. The time has come for some change; the time has come for some weight loss Knowing this is not a road he can go alone, Sam hires a personal trainer to kick his ass into shape.  From his setbacks to his successes, we follow Sam’s inspiring journey as he battles to lose weight and struggles to find love.

Clean Bin Project (Green Film Spotlight)

This award winning documentary follows a year in the life of a young couple trying to live consumer and waste-free.  It explores the larger issues of garbage in North America.

 

 

Face 2 Face

Face 2 Face follows the 11,000 mile cross country adventure of Emmy Award winning filmmaker, Katherine Brooks.  Spending her days on Facebook, Katherine noticed she had 5,000 virtual friends, but had not had a hug in over a month.  In the summer of 2011, Katherine set out on a journey that would change her life and those around her.

 

Lessons In Forgetting

Even today, female Infanticide is a social issue in many parts of India. Professor J.A Krishnamurthy ‘JAK’ leaves his job in the US and comes to India when his teenage daughter meets with an accident and is left comatose. As he tries to trace the events that lead to the accident, he gets to know more about his daughter and the values she stood for.

An intimate look at the seminal 90′s Boston band, Orbit, by a former WFNX DJ Mike Gioscia. The documentary chronicles the trials and tribulations of a local band as the they deal with achieving national recognition and the harsh realities of the music business.

 

 

Veer!

Jesse Sorensen had it all – a lucrative skateboarding contract, girls, fame, and an extravagant lifestyle. Now ten years later and past his prime, Jesse is dropped by his skate team. Veer!

Broke, he moves in with his grandmother to find his teenage niece, Samantha, crashing there as well.  She is following the same slippery slope Jesse once paved, with the hottest new skater in town.  Jesse must confront what he has spent his entire career avoiding – responsibility – and figure out his future once and for all.

Chicks in the City is a charming 10-minute documentary about urban chicken keepers in San Diego. Two families go underground to avert the law banning urban farm animals. When the Dunn family gets caught, the Sarsons take in their chickens on the sly. As an impassioned parade of local food advocates show, backyard chickens are on the front lines of the local food movement.
